2014 will definitely be the last that we see the dynamic Braxton Miller in an Ohio State Buckeyes uniform at quarterback, meaning that there’s a future to look ahead to at the position. On Tuesday, Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes got a little bit of help in that department as three-star pro-style prospect Joe Burrow committed to Ohio State via his twitter account.
Burrow told 247 Sports that this was an easy decision for him to make, while at the same time praising his new head coach in Meyer.
“I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to win, multiple National Championships and to be coached by Urban Meyer.” Burrow said. “Just that Coach Meyer’s quarterbacks have always been Heisman candidates and he’s always in the running for National Titles.”
While Miller, and backup Kenny Guiton, brought a dynamic element to the Ohio State offense the past few seasons, Burrow is more your traditional pocket passer. He stands roughly at 6’4″ and weighs about 205-pounds, meaning that by the time he gets acclimated to the Ohio State weight program he could be in the 220-225 area.
Burrow becomes the second hard commit for the 2015 Ohio State recruiting class that is sure to only get better as the summer months move along.
