Amazon Prime gains exclusive U.K. rights to Halle Berry’s Extant

It would seem as if Amazon Prime has nabbed another exclusive series. According to Variety, the online streaming service has acquired exclusive rights in the United Kingdom for the new and upcoming series Extant starring the beautiful Halle Berry.

The series itself centers on Molly Woods, an astronaut who is just returning home from a year-long solo mission in space.

She is now trying to reconnect with her husband John, who is played in the series by Goran Visnjic, and their son Ethan, played by the young Pierce Gagnon.

However, it would seem that her experiences, both at home and in space, will lead to events that will change the course of human history.

The series is set to begin in the United States on July 9th, and will be available on Amazon Prime in the U.K. the following day. This will stay the same throughout the course of the series.

The series, created by relative newcomer Mickey Fisher, brings together a pretty solid cast of characters in the series. As most of you are aware, Halle Berryis fresh off of her reprisal of the weather-controlling mutant Storm in widely successful X-Men: Days of Future Past. Most of you will remember Goran Visnjic as Dr. Luka Kovac in the longtime running medical drama ER.

The series also stars Camryn Mannheim, Tyler Hilton, Sergio Harford, Brad Beyer, and many more.

Extant will premiere on Wednesday, July 9that 9:00 p.m. on CBS.
