On Wednesday, the folks at Bovada released their list of favorites to head off to one of the semifinal locations –either the Sugar or Rose Bowl– and then eventually to JerryWorld in Dallas for the right to be called national champions.
BOVADA’s COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF ODDS
- Florida State: 2/7 to make, 9/4 to miss
- Alabama: 5/4 to make, 20/33 to miss
- Oregon: 10/11 to make, 10/13 to miss
- Ohio State: 20/21 to make, 20/23 to miss
- Auburn: 7/4 to make, 5/13 to miss
- LSU: 23/10 to make, 5/18 to miss
- UCLA: 12/5 to make, 5/19 to miss
- Michigan State: 9/4 to make, 2/7 to miss
Of course, returning the reigning Heisman winner at quarterback plus a plethora of talent on the defensive side of the ball, the Florida State Seminoles are right at the top.
It should also come as no shock that Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide are right behind them. It was the match up that many wanted to see happen for the title last year, but given the loss to the Auburn Tigers in the final regular season game, never came to fruition. This is a dangerous Alabama team coming into the season this year, playing with the chip on their shoulder from that two-game losing streak they’re currently riding.
