We are still a little over four and a half months away from the release of the upcoming crime drama Kill the Messenger. Two months ago, a release date was finally set for the film. Now, the people over at Focus Features have released a new poster for the film with a promise of a trailer to follow.

Kill the Messenger is based on the real-life story of a reporter named Gary Webb. Webb exposed the role of the CIA in arming Contra rebels and the importing of cocaine into the United States where the profits from said narcotics were funneled back into the Contras.

After the story hit the mainstream media, his career as a reporter was brought to a screeching halt and his name was dragged through the mud so maliciously that he eventually committed suicide.
