Watch Dogs still hurt by login issues

Watch Dogs released yesterday on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 next-generation (along with other) consoles.  After months of delays as well as years of anticipation, Ubisoft finally had their A-list title ready for its debut.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like that is quite the case.

As noted by Ubisoft’s official Twitter account, the game has seen significant login problems across consoles and is currently issue number one that the company is trying to resolve.

While Ubisoft is continuing to work on finding a fix for the issue, this has to no doubt cause some anguish on behalf of those who waited so heavily in anticipation for the game.

Watch Dogs follows Aiden Pierce around Chicago in an interesting take on the open-world style of gameplay.  As a hacker, the gameplay combines stealth ability with high action moments in an attempt to create a high performance adventure.  While it has been noted that the game caters towards online users, a slip up like this doesn’t bode well for Ubisoft’s new IP.

Ubisoft has watched their new title be welcomed by lukewarm reviews.  As is to be expected with any new title, figuring out the audience is an integral piece amongst future success of the series.  While Watch Dogs is likely to be the first game of what will end up being multiple in the series, the game will have to continue to make significant strides forward to move past its initial issues.

Hopefully Ubisoft is able to get the gameplay issues sorted out for gamers as a whole in short order.
