ACC reveals new logo (Video)

Atlantic Coast Conference commissioner John Swofford has set out in recent years to completely change the perception of the organization that he oversees. The conference expanded in 2013 with the additions of Pittsburgh and Syracuse, will expand some more in 2014 by adding in Louisville, and he even got some help in the football department last year with Florida State winning the national championship.

On Thursday, Swofford went a step further with changing that perception as the conference announced a re-branding, of sorts, with the revealing of a new logo.
Okay, it’s not all that much different from the old one, it just was given a new more new-age, cutting-edge sort of look.
In the press release from the conference, Swofford talked a bit about the new look logo.
“The ACC is well-positioned for many future successes and we are pleased with our new branding that reflects our limitless potential,” Commissioner John Swofford said. “The new, contemporary look modernizes and energizes the ACC mark, and, at the same time, still reflects the league’s history and rich tradition.”
He also mentioned the expansion, which as nice as this new logo is to have, is what’s most important to him and has been for years.
“With the recent expansion of our league and the addition of Louisville on July 1, it seemed a natural time to update our brand,” Swofford said. “We feel that it well represents the high standard and values the ACC has held for more than 61 years.”
