Eric Decker says New York Jets have a lot of quarterback talent

After playing with Peyton Manning as a member of the Denver Broncos, wide receiver Eric Decker knows the benefits of lining up with a high quality quarterback.

He’s soon to realize the grass may not always be greener on the other side when it’s Geno Smith or Michael Vick throwing to the wideout, despite the fact that Decker is saying all the right things.
The veteran praised Manning during a recent media session, but was quick to point out the pluses of the Jets quarterback depth, suggesting that he likes what he sees.
“I see a lot of talent in this quarterback room. I’m excited about growing with them. I still feel like I’ve got a lot of football to play.”
While it’s a nice sentiment and the Jets quarterback situation isn’t the worst in the league by any stretch, it seems to be nothing more than Decker attempting to play nice with his new teammates.
Expected to be the ‘go to guy’, Decker should find himself targeted quite often though he himself doesn’t believe the Jets need to have identified wideout’s, as he told the New York Post.
“I don’t see [it as] ‘I’m No. 1, he’s No. 2, he’s No. 3,’ ” Decker said. “All of us have to be on the field to make plays. It takes all 11 guys to have a successful offense I came here knowing I could help out in different facets whether it’s on the field or off the field. I’m just excited about this opportunity. This is honestly the best I’ve felt any offseason coming in. I’ve been telling people I feel like a rookie all over again, which is nice because I’ve got to prove myself.”
Head coach Rex Ryan knows that Decker’s statistics were a little skewed considering he played with Manning, though went on to say he caught eight touchdowns when Tim Tebow was under center, so “that’s pretty impressive”.
Ouch.
