The Houston Astros have seen a glimmer of hope in the last week or so. Still a long way from contending for anything, they at least have been treated to quite the display of talent from young outfielder George Springer while the team has been able to string together some wins.

More from Houston Astros

After a bit of a bumpy start in his first season in the big leagues, Springer has come on strong as of late. As a matter of fact, he has been absolutely on fire. On Thursday night he cranked his seventh home run in as many days as the Astros continue to play better baseball at the end of May.

What was perhaps the most impressive about this shot is the fact that he went down and got a tough off-speed pitch. Sure, he got an assist from the short porch in left field of his home park, but this is still an impressive swing to reach out and flick it out of the park like that.

Springer earned the right to yell on his way around first base. The Astros might not be going anywhere, but their stud outfielder has earned the right to celebrate his individual play as of late.

The Astros have the no.1 pick once again in next week’s MLB Draft. Perhaps they will be able to build a little bit more excitement for that pick with the emergence of another hot prospect fresh in the minds of Houston’s fans.
