HTC has announced that a new version of its flagship smartphone, the HTC One M8, is making its way to the most populous nation on Earth.
Titled the HTC One E8, the phone is made of plastic rather that the metal that its western-world counterpart is built with. The phone will also feature the 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, and the HTC BoomSound audio system that is prevalent in the One M8.
Not much else about the phone is known, but the One E8 is expected to come in multiple colors based on the company’s Chinese website. It will also include a 13-megapixel rear camera as well as a front-facing 5.0-megapixel camera. The camera features just a single lens with an LED flash as opposed to the dual-lens Duo Camera that the One M8 has.
It’s currently unknown if this phone will be launched outside of the Asian market. We should know for sure over the next few days.
Mike’s Musings: HTC has yet to issue a press release regarding the phone’s launch in China, which is odd. When the press release does finally make its way out, expect to see even more details regarding the HTC One E8 publicly known.
