Torrance Gibson (Fort Lauderdale, Fla. American Heritage) trimmed his list of suitors down from a top 15 to a top seven and there is a minor change at the top.

Gibson had the Tennessee Volunteers as his leader when he named his top 15 schools on May 5th with the Auburn Tigers in the second spot, but now the two SEC programs are tied at the top as Gibson tells 247Sports’ Ryan Bartow that the Vols and the Tigers are recruiting him the hardest.

“Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Miami, and UCF,” Gibson first told 247Sports Wednesday evening. “There’s no more cutting after this.”

Gibson was initially ranked as the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, but earlier this month had his position changed to “athlete” although the programs Gibson has in his top seven are all recruiting him to play quarterback.

He ranks as the No. 14 overall player in the nation and the No. 5 recruit in the state of Florida.

Gibson will be in Auburn this weekend for their “Big Cat” weekend where he hopes to continue his relationship with coaches Rhett Lashlee and Gus Malzahn in particular before traveling to Tennessee for the Volunteers quarterback in June.

Once believed to announce his commitment on National Signing Day in February, the 6-4, 200-pound Gibson tells Bartow he will take all five of his allotted official visits and then commit to the school of his choosing “a week or two after his senior season ends.”

Gibson led American Heritage to a state championship as a junior when he passed for 1,864 yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for 1,032 yards and 10 touchdowns.
