NBA Rumors: Utah Jazz very high on Quin Snyder as next head coach
By Jack Crosby
The Utah Jazz might not be able to land a coach that could be in contention for the Lakers or Knicks’ jobs, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t ultimately land a big name, and according to a report from the Deseret News, Quin Snyder is one of the big names that the team is heavily interested in.

Snyder made the big name for himself not in the NBA, but in the collegiate ranks when after being mentored by Coach K at Duke for several years, he had quite the successful run with the Missouri Tigers from 1996-2006.
But that doesn’t mean that he’s short on NBA coaching experience as he’s been an assistant multiple times, most recently as a member of the Atlanta Hawks’ coaching staff.
As far as the prospects of Snyder being hired by the Jazz, a source told the paper that it’s more than just chatter, it’s actually a good possibility.
“It’s very plausible,” one source told the Deseret News when speaking of Snyder possibly being hired by the Jazz.
One other source even went so far as to say that even on the team’s short list of candidates, Snyder is near the top.
"Another source said Snyder is “very high on a short list” of Jazz coaching candidates."
It should also be noted that Snyder as worked in the past with Jazz GM Dennis Lindsey, putting a previous relationship already in place.
