The No. 2 running back in the state of Louisiana, Catholic-Baton’s Derrius Guice, has committed to play at LSU in their class of 2015, per a report from Nola.com.
Guice gave his commitment to the Tigers at Saturday’s Bayou Picnic, which is always a hotbed for prospects to come and mingle at the school.
The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Guice has been one of Les Miles’ targets for some time, and also had offers from Texas, Alabama and Tulane, among others. He was also reportedly looking at some smaller schools such as Southern Miss, but opted to stay close to his Baton Rouge home and play his games in Death Valley.

This adds to what is becoming quite an impressive 2015 recruiting class for the Tigers, sitting at No. 6 in the ESPN recruiting rankings with one 5-star and six 4-star recruits committed.
The Tiger backfield, which was already something special, will become nightmarish for SEC defenses if the Tigers have both Guice and last year’s top recruit, Leonard Fourntte, both ready to take the ball.
It will certainly generate a lot of water cooler talk about where the best tandem of running backs in the conference, if not the nation, will reside.
