Apple WWDC 2014: Siri gets smarter

A couple of years ago, the world was introduced to Siri, the voice inside of your iPhone that would change the way you looked at a hands free device.  Today Apple decided to make here even a bit more useful.

With updates rolling out specifically for iOS 8, Siri has some great new features for consumers to enjoy.

First, Siri will now be able to have increased functionality with pairing alongside Shazam.  the song recognition app will now work with Siri to allow iPhone and iPad users to download the music without the need to ever touch their device.  Outside of Shazam as well, Siri will be able to assist users in purchasing iTunes content.

While streaming, Siri will now have the ability to use her voice recognition software in this instance as well.

Finally, Siri has been upgraded to now understand 22 totally new dictation languages.  As Apple continues to grow into other countries and regions of the world, it only makes sense for the technology to follow suit.

Siri has become a staple of the iOS experience and with her new updates, it doesn’t seem as though she will become extinct any time soon.  iOS 8 continues to look more and more impressive.
