When Tim Cook takes center stage, people take notice and make sure to listen.  As he took center stage, iOS 8 followed suit.

The iOS 8 features look absolutely amazing, and there are quite a few.  Let’s take a look:

Healthbook will be the feature that should lay the groundwork for Apple’s iWatch that is expected later in the show.  Also, Healthbook will work to cement the usability for fitness apps that have grown ever popular in recent years.

The notification center also gets a massive update.  Notifications have become interactive, no longer forcing you to leave the app you are in to change to your current notification.  Reply to a text or calendar update in order to address a notification.

Double tapping also now will allow communication with those you most frequently communicate, which is something that will make the iPhone even more of an effective tool than it already is. Safari also sees an update to the tab view, which allows for even more visibility across all pages.

Composing messages in Mail becomes more intuitive allowing you to slide away your current message to grab information from somewhere else that you may need.

Quicktype is another big feature that will allow users to formulate thoughts with a predictive text type feature.

While these updates are only scratching the surface for iOS 8, playing around with the new software will only unlock more possibilities.
