Taylor is the nation’s No. 789 player regardless of position, the No. 30 inside linebacker and the No. 100 ranked player in the state of Florida according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Georgia was among the first to offer the sleeper prospect who picked up his offer from the Bulldogs on May 8th along with an offer from the Pittsburgh Panthers. In the time since his first offers came rolling in, the 6-2, 220-pound inside linebacker has seen the likes of Wisconsin, Arkansas, Mississippi State, LSU and Tennessee, among others extend offers.
Taylor becomes the first linebacker to commit to Georgia in this year’s class that has been headlined by five-star athlete Terry Godwin (Hogansville, Ga. Callaway) and four-star defensive ends Natrez Patrick (Atlanta, Ga. Mays) and Chauncey Rivers (Stone Mountain Ga. Stephenson).
Georgia finished with the No. 8 recruiting class last year according to 247Sports when they only signed one inside linebacker, three-star Detric Bing-Dukes, so the team needed to add another body or two before national signing day in February to add some depth to the position.
Look for Georgia to be major players during the summer months as they continue to climb the team rankings as they are the lead team for top overall recruit Trent Thompson and have targeted a number of four and five-star recruits to come play for Mark Richt and new defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt.
Georgia moves up to the No. 16 ranked class in the nation and the No. 8 class in the SEC with the addition of Taylor.
