The NBA Draft is just around the corner and teams are starting to hammer out their draft strategies when it comes to players they are targeting and areas of need they are looking to fill. For the New York Knicks, they’re simply trying to find a pick and that’s something we could see them do in the second round of the draft around the region of picks 30-40.

More from NBA

We’ve heard directly from Phil Jackson’s mouth that the Knicks are trying to acquire a second round pick via purchase and this is just further proven by the fact that they called in Florida Gatore center Patric Young for a workout.

Per Ian Begley from ESPN New York, the Knicks are continuing on their quest to purchase a draft pick and Young seems to be someone on their radar.

"The New York Knicks will host University of Florida center Patric Young for a workout this week, a league source says. The Knicks don’t have a draft pick in the 2014 draft. But Phil Jackson said last week that they may purchase one from a team that owns a second-round pick if they find a player worth acquiring."

Young is a name expected to be available at the end of the first-round and into the early second round at the NBA Draft later this month and the Knicks looking to purchase a pick seems to indicate their intentions. Of course, Young could go early than the 30th overall pick or the Knicks could find another prospect they like better but Young is on their radar and it’s clear they intend to build youthful talent on this team one way or another.
