First Madden NFL 15 screenshot

With the release of the game just under three months away, EA Sports has released the first official screenshot from Madden NFL 15. The screen capture features newly-extended quarterback Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers.

The image comes from the next-gen (PS4 and Xbox One) version of the game, and it looks absolutely stunning, for the most part.

Madden NFL 15

Is that a video game, or the real Colin Kaepernick? You decide!

Now, I’m not going to critique it too much, because it is the first screenshot from a still-in-development title, but it seems like there is something wrong with his right arm. To me, it looks like there is a weird polygonal effect going on.

That being said, the image shows the high detail that Madden NFL 15 is going to have on the next-gen consoles, the second Madden title to grace the PS4 and Xbox One. The details in Kaepernick’s face as well has his equipment is down right impressive. Of course, I’m one that focuses more on how a game plays instead of its look, so these beautiful graphics don’t fully do it for me.

With E3 2014 less than a week away, and Madden NFL 15 one of the games on the presentation docket, I can’t wait to see how the game actually looks on the field.
