Right after the Clemson Tigers played their annual spring scrimmage, it was announced that they would be down a quarterback on the roster as they aim to replace Tajh Boyd with head coach Dabo Swinney dismissing Chad Kelly from the team for detrimental conduct.

More from College Football

Since his departure, not much has been said about where the former Tiger could be headed, but now we know of at least one potential destination as 247 Sports is reporting that Kelly paid a visit to the Alabama Crimson Tide over the weekend.

To remain on the field, Kelly will attend college at the JUCO level with East Mississippi Community College. Following that stint in 2014, Kelly will have two years of FBS eligibility remaining where he could spend at the college of his choosing.

Should Alabama decide to bring Kelly in, it’ll be the second time in recent memory that they go the transfer route to secure the spot under center. This season it’s expected that Florida State transfer Jacob Coker will be taking over the reins in Tuscaloosa.

If he should wind up at Alabama with head coach Nick Saban and staff, Kelly might want to work on the reported attitude issues that ultimately led to his release from Clemson. Most notably, during the spring game just a few days before his exit, he verbally sparred with an assistant coach, something that would not go over well at all with Saban.
