While it’s been said by a handful of sources that the Minnesota Timberwolves want a lottery pick (along with other pieces) in exchange for Kevin Love, they don’t appear overly committed to keeping their own selection.

More from Minnesota Timberwolves

Owners of the No. 13 pick in the upcoming draft, Darren Wolfson suggests that the T’Wolves are open to listening to offers for the pick though notes they’re not actively attempting to move it.

“Saw a @chadfordinsider note about the #Twolves being open to moving No. 13. Sure, they’re listening. Told not actively shopping though.”

Fact of the matter is, the Wolves likely don’t know what they’re going to do with the pick at this point. They probably wouldn’t want it if they actually do trade Love before the draft and acquire a higher draft pick, though if such a move isn’t made the thirteenth pick in a relatively solid draft is a rather nice commodity to own.

On the flip side, we’ve seen a handful of teams picking ahead of the Timberwolves express a desire to potentially move down or move out of the draft, so if they do happen to put the pick on the market they’re likely to have compeition.

There has been noise of a few teams picking in the late teen’s to early twenty’s expressing a desire to move up, though the seriousness of such rumors have yet to be validated.

For now, it’s all smoke and mirrors until we get a little closer to the June 26th draft as teams will be willing to show their cards a bit more.
