With the NHL playoffs nearing their peak in the Stanley Cup Finals, some creative minds have taken to the art shop to recreate some pro hockey logos with the faces of characters from The Simpsons.

As you can imagine, the results are pretty cool.

Instagrammarian @ak47_studios posted ten NHL logos re-imagined as Simpsons characters and they’re all pretty fun. There are some other basketball and football related images as well on the account. The specialty of late on this account seems to be blending video games and sports as well. The Boston Celtics/Super Mario combination is splendid.

Here are some highlights:

My personal favorite of the NHL logos is Abe Simpson as the San Jose Shark. Grandpa’s probably bitten through a hockey stick on the show, right? The image makes sense and he has the same snarl as the shark. Beautiful.

Honorable mention goes to Santa’s Little Helper playing the Phoenix Coyote to a tee, as well as Homer’s head playing the role of Boston Bruin. Just out of the medal podium would be Marge Simpson as the Blues. St. Louis is the perfect team for that hair.

What do you think is the best NHL logo turned Simpson character? What team’s logo would you like to see added to such a list? It doesn’t necessarily have to be limited to the NHL, but obviously obscure logos should come with links. Let us know what you think!

The Flyers logo is too perfect. It sums up everything about the team in one image. The actual team should use it.
