Pablo Sandoval foul ball destroys reporter's laptop (Video)

MLB.com Reds beat reporter Mark Sheldon is out one laptop after his was totally destroyed by a foul ball off the bat of the Giants’ Pablo Sandoval during Tuesday night’s game. Oh the humanity!

Warning: Horrendous electronic carnage. Look away if you are disturbed by the sight of perfectly good computers getting destroyed by wayward spheroids.

You can see how distraught Sheldon is after the baseball took out his laptop. Reportedly, he had his entire game story written and then…wammo.

As bloggers, we’ve all experienced bad things happening to stuff we just wrote, crashes and other glitches that cause stuff to suddenly vanish, but that’s nothing compared to having your entire rig get blown up by a foul ball.

Sandoval should do something to make it right. Like buy Sheldon a new laptop? I know it’s not technically Panda’s fault, cause you can’t really control where a foul ball goes, but still. I feel like, in the interest of player-reporter relations, Panda should do something. At least take Sheldon out to dinner. A nice dinner, not just a dog and a beer.
