Suspended NFL and former New York Giants safety Will Hill signed a deal with the Arena League’s Arizona Rattlers, the team announced Friday.

More from New York Giants

The Giants released Hill last week, following his being handed a six-game suspension by the NFL for a positive marijuana test. Hill contends the positive test came from second-hand marijuana smoke.

Hill served a four-game suspension in 2012 for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug use policy when he tested postive for Adderall, and missed the first four games last season for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, becoming eligible to play again on Sept. 30.

Anyone seeing a pattern here?

Hill, a 2011 undrafted free agent out of the University of Florida, would have been eligible to rejoin the Giants active roster after Week 6 before the team released him.

“Will knew the situation he put the Giants in and he forced their hand,” Giants safety Antrel Rolle said. “For him to keep moving himself in the wrong direction, it’s not a good thing.”

This will be Hill’s second official stint with the Rattlers, being signed to the team prior to the Giants signing him in May of 2012.

“I’m excited to get out on the field,” said Hill of his chance to play with the Rattlers. “I’m ready to get out there and put people over the [dasher board] wall.”

Honestly this is no huge loss for the Giants, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Hill play the remainder of his middling career in the Arena League.
