Hi-Rez studios has announced a set of brand new, limited edition God skins MOBA (Multipalyer Online Battle Arena) Smite that are in honor of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The skins, which were announced via the game’s official Twitch stream, apply to the Mayan God Xbalanque. The first puts Xbalanque in a Brazilian kit in honor of the tournament’s host country. The second skin, called the “Jaguar Skin” features Xbalanque in the red, white and blue.
Xbalanque’s weapons have been replaced with cleats and a vuvuzela to really give it the World Cup effect, though the vuvuzela likely won’t be a part of the experience this year.
The new World Cup skin pack also features a new Ward skin that you can use as well.
You can see all of the new skins in the slideshow below.
The skins will cost players 600 gems – Smite’s in-game currency — and will come with the two Xbalanque fútbol skins as well as the fútbol Ward skin. You can purchase them separately, but that will result in you spending more money than you’d like.
Smite is a free-to-play game, and can be downloaded via SmiteGame.com.
Mike’s Musings: As someone who plays Smite as well as love’s the FIFA World Cup. This is a skin pack that is on my list of things to purchase. Three skins, for less than the price of two? I don’t see how you can go wrong. Now, if only I was actually good at playing with Xbalanque. Oh well.
