Things got way too hot for the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals as the team couldn’t withstand the high temperatures inside the AT&T Center once the air condintiong broke and started to cooke veryone inside. Temps reportedly reached upwards of 90 degrees, and LeBron James ended up cramping up late in the fourth quarter and having to leave the game as a result.

More from LeBron James

But while the Heat were cooked in San Antonio, there are many people running to the side of LeBron James to offer up support for his having to leave the game.

According to Adrian Wojnarkowski from Yahoo! Sports, former Detroit Pistsons great Isiah Thomas said after the Game 1 loss for the Miami Heat that not even the great Michael Jordan could have played with the heat in San Antonio and he would have cramped and left just like LeBron James.

"“There is no athlete on the planet who could’ve played through those cramps,” Thomas told Yahoo Sports. “Michael Jordan absolutely couldn’t have played through those cramps. I absolutely couldn’t have played through those cramps. As an athlete, there’s nothing you could do.”"

It’s hard to read the sincerity of Thomas’ words as while he may be truly supporting LeBron, he also takes all opportunities he can to figuratively pimp slap Michael Jordan.

Jordan may very well have cramped up and had to leave, but let’s not forget classic MJ moments like The Flu Game, something that this could have been for LeBron had be not cramped up as bad as he did. People will always hate on LeBron for anything he does, but Thomas may be right when he says even the greatest player in the history of the game may have not been able to withstand the heat in San Antonio.

We know the greatest player in the game today couldn’t.
