With E3 right around the corner, EA Sports has released their first trailer–including a first look at gameplay footage–for the upcoming NFL exhibition game ‘Madden 15′ which features Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly, the 2013-14 Defensive Player of the Year.
Check out the trailer below:
Despite appearing in the first trailer, Luke Keuchly won’t appear on the cover of Madden. Following the template set in 2011, EA Sports looked to a fan vote to decide which athlete will grace the cover of Madden 15 and after shuffling through 16 athletes, the voting process is down to two players: Cam Newton, quarterback for the Carolina Panthers and Richard Sherman, cornerback for the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Keuchly was eliminated in the second round by the San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Following the announcement of Colin Kaepernick’s 6-year, $126 million contract extension, EA Sports decided to reveal a screenshot of gameplay footage of the quarterback in Madden 15 and soon after the release of the photo, someone decided to crop the Madden 15 screenshot (bottom) next to a Madden 14 screenshot (top) to show the jarring difference in graphics.
As you may notice, for the first time in Madden NFL history, tattoos will be included in the game though, according to several reports, Kaepernick may be the only player in the game with tattoos due to licensing issues.
Along with the trailer release, Madden revealed several new features which include an all-new arsenal of pass rush moves, re-designed defenses, and six new gameplay cameras.
Madden 15 is set to release on August 26th in North America for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
