Mississippi State football recruiting: 4-star ATH Malik Dear commits to Bulldogs

The Mississippi State Bulldogs and head coach Dan Mullen received yet another huge commitment in their 2015 class as four-star athlete Malik Dear out of Jackson, MS pledged his allegiance to the Bulldogs.

Dear, one of the most coveted athletes in the 2015 recruiting crop, turned down a plethora of offers from the likes of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, and of course the Ole Miss Rebels. Immediately following the huge announcement, the Bulldogs’ fan base were out in full force.

According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Dear is the 10th overall rated athlete in the country and 130th prospect.

While he can play virtually anywhere on the field, it’s projected that he will fit nicely into a wide receiver role for Mullen and the Bulldogs, mainly in the slot where he can put that tremendous speed of his to good use with the run after the catch.

This move Saturday night gives Mississippi State their 16th commitment of the 2015 class and will keep them firmly in the top 10 in the rankings.

Dan Mullen keeps this up, a trip to the SEC title game could be on the horizon sooner than most people think.
