Meryl Davis, Charlie White to sit out next season

Meryl Davis and Charlie White, who won the gold medal in ice dancing at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, will be taking a little break from competition. The pair announced the news this week.

Davis and White have decided to sit out the upcoming season and they are unsure of if or when they will return to the ice.

“Trying to stay in the present, we’ve decided not to look too far ahead regarding our competitive careers,” Davis and White said in a press release. “We’ll be taking the 2014-15 season away from competition. We will not make any further decisions until a later date.”

Since the Olympics in Russia, Davis and White have competed in the most recent season of Dancing With the Stars. Davis continued her winning ways and claimed the season title.

Now, we will need to sit back and wait to see when they return to the ice.

Without Davis and White competing, the top ice dancing pairs from the United States are Madison Chock and Evan Bates and Maia and Alex Shibutani.
