USA soccer team receive dog tags for World Cup

The United States men’s national team is playing their final World Cup warm up game against Nigeria in Jacksonville before heading to the tournament in Brazil. After a practice, U.S. service men and women had a special gift for the team, commemorative dog tags.

Omar Gonzalez and Brad Guzan both tweeted out pictures of their tags as did US Soccer’s Instagram account. The dog tags look pretty cool and feature the American flag and the message “Stay fit! Stay strong! Stay resilient!”

On the back of one it features the player’s name and information about him like position, club team and home town. On the back of the other dog tag it has the information of the service member who presented the tags to the player.

It is an incredible gesture and one that will get you feeling all sorts of patriotic before the big tournament. Check out the pictures below.

US Soccer also posted a photo to their Instagram account with the caption: “U.S. Service men & women presenting the #USMNT with commemorative dog tags following public training”
