That’s why Green wasted no time in making his commitment. Green camped with the Buckeyes on Sunday and Buckeyes’ head coach Urban Meyer gave him an offer once the camp ended. Green immediately committed to Meyer.
“I was talking to the coaches earlier in the school year,” Green said via Steve Helwagen of 24/7 Sports. “Coach Johnson and Coach Ash said they wanted to get me up to camp. I was here yesterday and took the tour. It was all good knowing I had to work for my offer and that’s what I did.
“I was doing drills, competing in one on ones, and I guess Coach Meyer went over to my parents and said they were going to offer. At that time, I still didn’t know. I went back to the office with Coach Meyer … and he let me know I had the offer.
The 6’3, 195-pound Green is from Hyattsville, Maryland and attends the famous DeMatha Catholic High School (3-star offensive lineman Brock Ruble, who signed with the Florida State Seminoles in 2014, the Kouandjio brothers of Alabama Crimson Tide fame, former NBA player and current Atlanta Hawks’ general manager Danny Ferry and Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo all attended DeMatha).
Green is ranked as the country’s 18th-best safety prospect, the 11th-best overall prospect from the state of Maryland and the 470th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Green also holds offers from the Indiana Hoosiers, Maryland Terrapins and Virginia Cavaliers, among others.
