The Pocono 400 has come and gone and the Sprint Cup standings have seen a few names drop and a few take a nice rise in the rankings. With a handful of races left, things are starting to get intense for the drivers near the top of the standings but the opporuntities to move up are still very present.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. drove away with a big win at Pocono on Sunday afternoon and he now sits just 22 points behind Jeff Gordon for the lead. He sits just six points behind the efficient Matt Kenseth, who has managed to stay in second place despite not yet notching a win this season.
It was a rough day for Carl Edwards though, as his failure to finish the race resulted in a four position drop that dropped him to seventh in the standings.
