Fixing their wrongs of the original Forza 5 launch on Xbox One, Turn 10 Studios has finally decided to release the Nubergring race track in the form of a DLC for the One as it was announced at Microsoft’s E3 2014 presentation.
Turn 10 creative director Dan Greenawalt explained the omission as a graphics issue, stating some tracks needed immediate upgrades.
“Some of the tracks needed updating,” Greenawalt said in an interview with Eurogamer “Some of them needed light updating, and some of them needed heavy updating. Silverstone, for example, was a complete recapture. Several of our tracks were just plain wrong, either because they were poorly captured and technology’s moved on, or the track’s changed like Silverstone.”
If you’re a fan of the Forza franchise, there’s no doubt you’re familiar with the Nubergring track, but for those who are unfamiliar and new to the franchise, Nubergring is a motorsports racing complex near Nurburg, Rhineland-Palantine, Germany that holds close to 150,000 people.
Since the original omission, fans harped over the absence of the race track as it was one of the more compelling tracks in the game, but there wishes have been granted: Nubergring is back.
The Nubergring DLC is available to all Xbox One today for the small price of free 99.
