E3 2014: New The Order: 1886 gameplay

Sony isn’t holding back with the gameplay demos and trailers during this year’s E3 2014 media briefing. Immediately after revealing the upcoming Alpha and Beta for Bungie’s new first-person shooter Destiny, Sony showcased some brand new gameplay for the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive The Order: 1886.

The gameplay demo takes a look at a cutscene that occurs at some point in the story before transitioning into the gameplay that users will get to experience. The third-person perspective is a nice change of pace when it comes to shooters, and is something that may draw more people in. Third-person games, in my opinion, give off more of that “watching a movie” feel that first-person titles just can’t deliver. Then again, some players likely would rather feel immersed in the action which is why first-person titles are so popular today.

The Order: 1886 launches in early 2015 exclusively on PlayStation 4. Make sure to keep locked to FanSided.com for more on The Order: 1886.

Mike’s Musings: This is a game that, despite the delay, I’m still excited about. It looks great, and has a story that, while sounding silly, is captivating enough to draw me in.
