After a few years of being a no-show, EA Sports got back onto the court last year with NBA Live 14.  Behind poster boy Kyrie Irving, the series was looking for the revival that it so badly needed.  Although some rust was to be expected, EA Sports most importantly needed to do its best to get back into the action.

Looking back at what NBA Live 14 turned out to be, it’s not completely fair to call the game a failure.  EA Sports had taken a hiatus from a basketball game entrant and coming back for the first time for four years on next generation systems posed challenges of its own.  Regardless of the experience that NBA Live 14 was, the biggest step of the process was to get the game out to consumers.

With a year under their belt, EA Sports is looking to take significant strides forward in order to continue to close the gap between themselves and the basketball competition.  Today, NBA Live 15 got its first screenshot.

Revealing player likenesses, EA Sports teased the facial images of superstars, Paul George, Tony Parker, Rajon Rondo, James Harden, Blake Griffin, and Stephen Curry.  Of the bunch, it looks as though Griffin and Rondo were duplicated to a virtual “T,” and that NBA Live 15 is off to a good start.

In addition to the first screen, EA Sports released a “Behind the Scenes” video (above) detailing the scanning features they will be using for NBA Live 15 to bring the realism of each player to the game.

While NBA Live 15 has a significant amount of doubt to overcome, continuing to push forward and keep putting up shots, will only help the powerful sports game studio to throw down a proverbial slam dunk in the (hopeful) near future.

More details regarding the game’s features are expected to come this July.
