The NBA Finals are underway and the media converged on San Antonio before Game 1 to get one final look at the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat before they started what has turned out to be a back and forth series so far.
Being the jokester that he is, Jimmy Kimmel sent his sidekick/parking lot attendant Guillermo to the NBA Finals media day with nothing but a camera, a cell phone and random household objects to use as a microphone.
The trolling that ensued was epic, to say the least.
It’s hard to say what was the most hilarious part about this, the fact that thebit was sold so well or that some of the players being interviewed bought it completely.
Not everyone knew who Guillermo was, as we see Patty Mills and others get completely flabbergasted by his miniature interviewing tactics. Others, like Chris Bosh, Chris Andersen and Shane Battier, knew exactly what was going on and had an awareness of the situation.
Kawhi Leonard got trolled the hardest though, as he failed to buy into the bit and seemed almost annoyed at the gag that was being played. But regardless of who bought in and who didn’t it’s clear that the reason the series has been so back and forth has nothing to do with skill as much as it has to do with Guillermo giving everyone he met his dead grandmother’s lucky necklace.
