“EA Sports UFC” is set to hit shelves on Tuesday, June 17, and fans are looking forward to seeing what the full game has to offer after getting a taste of the action with the playable demo.
One knock on the game has been the lack of top contenders like Matt Brown and Tyron Woodey, along with current bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, but MMA fans and gamers can rest easy knowing that “EA Sports UFC” will be providing free roster updates to include some of the fighters that they may have overlooked during the initial production.
That is great news for everyone looking to play the game.
“Dillashaw really snuck up on us, considering that in only his second fight after his loss to [Raphael] Assuncao, he shocked the world and captured the bantamweight title,” “EA UFC” Creative Director Brian Hayes told Sherdog.com.
“Post-launch, ‘EA Sports UFC’ players will receive free roster updates as we look to ensure the game stays relevant and true to the UFC. We will announce respective updates as and when they are made available with more information coming shortly.”
There is no word on how many characters will be added in each update or how many updates will be released, but the fact that the roster will continue to expand post-release instantly ups its replay value and, as they were hoping, will keep the game relevant as the UFC continues to add top fighters.
