In just under four months, fans will bear witness to the latest comedy from longtime collaborators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg entitled The Interview.
You may not know quite what the film is about just yet, but judging by the poster alone, if you enjoyed the film This is the End, you are probably going to love The Interview.
Now, for those of you who aren’t quite familiar with the premise of the new film, here is a quick look at the synopsis for The Interview courtesy of IMDb.com.
“Talk-show host Dave Skylark and his producer, Aaron Rapoport, score an interview with Kim Jong-Un, dictator of North Korea. But when the CIA asks them to kill Kim, they become the least qualified men to ever assassinate.”
Now, James Franco is set to play the role of Dave Skylark, which means that it is Seth Rogen who is taking on the role of his producer sidekick Aaron Rapoport.
I think I am totally with the synopsis on this one. I just can’t see how the two of them are ever going to be able to pull off assassinating the North Korean dictator; however, if there is one thing I am sure of, it is that there is bound to be some pretty hilarious shenanigans along the way.
Both Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will be directing the film in addition to penning the script alongside screenwriter Dan Sterling. Sterling has lots of writing experience in the television market, having written for popular shows like South Park, King of the Hill, The Office, and more.
There is definitely no lack of comedic talent in the cast. In addition to Rogen, the film also stars his friend and longtime collaborator James Franco. The Interview also stars Masters of Sex star Lizzy Caplan, Tommy Chang, Randall Park, Diana Bang, and many more.
Based solely on what you know of the plot and your first look at the poster, what are some of your thoughts on the film? What kind of hilarity do you think these two are going to find themselves in over the course of their ridiculous journey? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
The Interview is scheduled to be released on October 10, 2014.
