Soccer truly is a global game and the best players from around the world play far away from home sometimes. Some times it is hard to see the best players in the world close to home because of where the best leagues are.
Something Americans can’t necessarily relate too since the best players in the more popular sports come to America. We don’t always get to see the best soccer players in America though.
When Argentina trained in Belo Horizonte ahead of the 2014 World Cup, some fans ran out onto the pitch. More than just one, a few fans ran out onto the pitch. Messi gives the first one his jacket as a souvenir after bending over and dusting off his shoe. He also got a hug from Messi before being taken away by security. On came another fan and another.
Wait, is that third fan Brazilian superstar and soccer legend Ronaldinho? Nope, just someone who looks like a dead-ringer for Ronaldinho.
Messi seems incredibly amused to see the Ronaldinho look-alike standing right in front of him and you can see the smile on his face during their interaction. The rest of the team seemed pretty amused by the doppelganger as well.
Messi and Argentina don’t play their first World Cup game until Sunday when they take on Bosnia-Herzegovina.
