Sports fans are not always the most intelligent of the bunch. Sometimes, die hard fandom of a team ends in a very poor choice, and that seems to be the case with our subject today.

More from Detroit Lions

A Detroit Lions fan, named David, has decided to ink his body with a premonition that is more than likely to fall through. David went on a popular Detroit radio station and had them tattoo a 2015 Detroit Lions Super Bowl championship design on his leg.

Yes, you read that correctly. Not a 2014 Super Bowl champions tattoo, but a 2015 tattoo. Luckily, the radio station documented the entire ordeal on Facebook this morning:

This tattoo will likely go down in the Hall of Fame for worst decisions and worst tattoos once the Lions go 8-8, or have yet another losing season.

Although, as we saw last season with the Seattle Seahawks’ fan who had some similar ink on their body proclaiming the team Super Bowl champs, a move like this could end up working out.

However, the circumstances between the two teams are vastly different. The Seahawks were a bit of an established force under Pete Carroll heading into last season, while the Lions are ushering in the first year of the Jim Caldwell era in 2014.

Maybe, this gentleman above just has a lot of faith in Coach Caldwell?
