Mexico vs Cameroon: Watch World Cup 2014 live stream online

Brazil defeated Croatia in the opening game of the 2014 World Cup, creating an opportunity for Mexico to join them atop the table and create a three-point gap with Croatia and Cameroon. A win over Cameroon would give Mexico, as well as Brazil, a huge lead in the race for the top two spots in the table, which advance to the next round.

Mexico head coach Miguel Herrera named his starting line up ahead of the game, and notably left striker Javier Hernandez on the bench and put Guillermo Ochoa down as his starting goalkeeper.

“The players each day are seeing it more clearly, we are working on that,” Herrera said after Thursday’s practice, via ESPN FC. “Our team can be world champions.”

Hernandez, aka Chicharito, is less thrilled about his role as a “super substitute.”

“Obviously, I always hope to be there but there are things that, sadly, are not in my hands,” Hernandez said. “I always work to be a starter. That is why when I go in, I do things well, not to be a substitute but to be a starter.”
