NHL Rumors: Boston Bruins shoot down Brad Marchand trade rumor

The Boston Bruins are looking to get back into the Stanley Cup next season and as a result they’re going to need to make some roster changes in the offseason to make sure a flame out doesn’t happen again like it did this year.

One way the Bruins have gotten better almost instantly in the past is by making smart trades and they’ve already been mentioned as being involved in some big ones so far. But one particular rumor that was making waves has been shot down by the Bruins themselves as any talk of Brad Marchand being swapped out west for Patrick Marlaeu have been denied straight from the top in Boston.

The trade may make a little bit of sense but the Bruins trading away Marchand is something they’re clearly not at all interested in doing. Marleau is an excellent player and the type of talent that would have to be involved in such a trade, but the Bruins aren’t going to bite on the Sharks’ attempts to blow up their roster.

Boston didn’t say they weren’t interested in Marleau, which is something to keep in mind, but Marchand will be wearing black and gold in 2014 and won’t be getting shipped elsewhere.

Just because Peter says he isnt trading Marchand doesnt mean he isnt going to trade him. Last year he said he wasnt trading Seguin then bam he was off to Dallas. I think we need to pump the breaks a little and wait n see what the B’s do and dont do before the start of next season.

I remember those words as well. I think he was gone about a week later. When a GM says “I’m not trading or have plans to trade a certain player” does not mean, he’s not listening to offers. I would not bet against Marchand being traded.
