Five-star quarterback recruit Torrance Gibson (Fort Lauderdale, Fla. American Heritage) adjusted his list of finalists on Thursday when he named the Tennessee volunteers his leader after camping there over the previous days, but perhaps the biggest shock is that he dropped the Ohio State Buckeyes to the bottom of his list.

The 6-4, 200-pound dual-threat quarterback was once perceived to be headed to Columbus as he once had the majority of his Crystal Ball Predictions on 247Sports in favor of Ohio State, but the nation’s No. 1 athlete in the country is getting a cold shoulder from the Ohio State coaching staff who isn’t even talking to him anymore.

So what happened to bring about the cold shoulder?

“I don’t know – I am not even sure,” Gibson told cleveland.com in a phone interview Thursday evening. “They are just dropping right now because a lot of coaches have been in contact with me, and I haven’t been in contact with any of their coaches since I don’t know when.”

Ohio State received the commitment of three-star quarterback Joe Burrow earlier this spring, but Ohio State has remained adamant they would be taking two quarterbacks in this class, so could Gibson still end up at Ohio State if things don’t work out with Tennessee or Auburn or LSU who round out his top three?

“They’d have a shot, but I’m not even sure why (we lost touch),” Gibson said. “I don’t know the last time I have seen an Ohio State coach. And they don’t call anymore.”

Gibson would be a nice fit in the Buckeyes offense as his dual-threat ability would be reminiscent of Braxton Miller, but that doesn’t look to be a possibility ant longer as he doesn’t even think he’ll take an official visit to Ohio State.
