JR Smith says he won’t talk to Carmelo Anthony if he signs with Heat
By Josh Hill
The hot rumor at the moment is that Carmelo Anthony will be headed to the Miami Heat the offseason when he opts out of his deal with the New York Knicks and heads to South Beach to team up with LeBron James.

Should he head to Miami, Carmelo wouldn’t be the only superstar to leave his team to join rank in Miami as Ray Allen left a great situation in Boston to win titles with the Heat. Obviously, Melo and Allen are on different levels in their careers but the allure of Miami is the same.
Just like how Allen burned his teammates in Boston to head to Miami, Melo’s teammates in New York aren’t looking forward to losing him to the Heat if that’s where he decides to go. J.R. Smith is at the front of that line and will disown Melo if he signs with the Heat this summer.
Smith was likely joking, but the fact of the matter is that no one in New York wants Melo to leave and they especially don’t want him to go to the Heat. Smith isn’t the best salesperson to sell Melo on New York, but the fact that not even he approves of a move to the Heat should speak volumes to Melo.
