The Los Angeles Kings got the win in double overtime against the New York Rangers in Game 5 to win the coveted Stanley Cup. One of the greatest traditions in all of sports is that each player gets a special day with the trophy to himself, to take where he wants and to do with it what he wants.
Those days have created all sorts of stories and legends about what has happened, what has been put inside of it and drank out of it.
Well when the Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup last night, they didn’t waste any time getting busy with the trophy. Apparently the Kings took it to North End bar in Hermosa Beach early this morning.
TMZ has video of the Kings in the bar with the Stanley Cup and filling it up. No they didn’t fill it up with beer or champagne, instead Alec Martinez filled it up with peanut M&Ms.
TMZ says captain Dustin Brown, Matt Greene, Drew Doughty, Anze Kopitar, Jarret Stoll and Jonathan Quick were all there as well and that they stayed at the bar till 4 a.m., apparently not worn out by the double overtime game.
And according to TMZ the Stanley Cup can hold somewhere between 5,000 and 7,000 M&Ms.
