Will HBO Go crash during Game of Thrones season 4 finale?

The Season four finale of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones will be premiering tonight and with it will likely come a heavy influx of viewers trying to watch the episode via live stream on the HBO Go app on their mobile devices. Having HBO Go is a really a handy tool to have as it allows you to not only access the entire back-catalog of HBO series dating back to the infancy of the network, but you can stream current shows as they air on you phone, iPad, tablet or computer.

That is, HBO Go is a useful tool when it works and doesn’t crash — which is always seems to do. Despite being an epic network with huge shows that many people watch, they can’t seem to get their server situation sorted out and the end result is millions of angry viewers who find that their HBO Go app freezes and doesn’t respond when the show they want to watch is airing.

It happened for the season finale of True Detective back in March and it happened for the Game of Thrones season premiere in April.

So the question is, will the app fail and freeze for the huge season four finale of Game of Thrones?

Unfortunately, the chances are pretty high that it does. A downside of sharing passwords and giving open access to the application is that it gets overloaded thanks the HBO not knowing just how many people they should ready the servers for. The correct answer always should be a lot, but HBO hasn’t gotten the picture yet.

Here’s to hoping the season four finale of Game of Thrones doesn’t result in another HBO Go crash, otherwise viewers may descend upon HBO like White Walkers on The Wall.
