France and Honduras squared off in the second game of Group E during the World Cup on Sunday and it was an interesting game. We saw a player get sent off for double yellow cards, putting Honduras down a man for the entire second half.
We got to see goal line technology get used for the first time in the World Cup to award France their second goal of the game. French forward Karim Benzema added a third goal, his second, later in the game to really seal the win for France.
The quantity of goals was important for France to move ahead of Switzerland, who narrowly beat Ecuador earlier in the day. France has a goal differential of three, better than Switzerland’s one goal differential.
