Buster Olney with the barehanded snag (Video)

Buster Olney was sitting along the right infield line watching the game, jotting down notes when a nice surprise bounced his way. A foul ball went right to him. Somehow, he reached out and picked the ball out of the air. The amount of spin on that ball had to be ridiculous, which makes the catch all the more impressive.

“I had no problem with that,” he said on ESPN afterwards.

Jason Heyward’s foul ball provided the ESPN Analyst something to talk about in the bottom of the sixth with the Angels leading the Braves, 3-0. The Braves mounted a comeback and won, 7-3.

Check out this video featured over on MLB.com:

Olney casually pretends as if his snag wasn’t excellent and chews on his pen while he searches for the nearest kid to toss the ball. But come on Buster, get the pen out of your mouth. I guess he can’t possibly know how gross it looks in slow motion. Oh well, his catch was Web Gem worthy.

He gets on the headset with the guys up in the booth and jokes that he knew he had to catch it, for fear of them playing the replay of him dropping it. Well, they played the replay anyways. At least he managed to look good.
