Mexico World Cup 2014: El Tri names starting XI for Brazil; Chicharito not starting

The Mexico national team takes on host nation Brazil in their second match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and El Tri manager Miguel Herrera has named the Mexico World Cup starting XI for tomorrow’s match at Estádio Castelão in Fortaleza.T

It comes as no surprise, but Herrera did not make any changes to the team’s starting lineup.

That means Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez will once again be coming off of the bench for El Tri, while Oribe Peralta and Giovani dos Santos get the start up front.

In Mexico’s World Cup opener, dos Santos began to come into his own and live up to the potential that we first saw a few years ago. He scored two goals that were disallowed on poor calls and his run set up the team’s only goal.

El Tri will hope that dos Santos can find that same success when they take on Brazil on Tuesday afternoon.

The starting XI for El Tri’s match up against the host nation can be seen below:

GK: Guillermo Ochoa

DEF: Paul Aguilar, Francisco Rodriguez, Rafa Marquez, Hector Moreno, Miguel Layun

MID: Gallito Vazquez, Hector Herrera, Andres Guardado

FWD: Oribe Peralta, Giovani Dos Santos
