Now that the 2014 NBA Finals have wrapped up, it is time for the NBA offseason to kick into full force. One of the biggest story lines to follow will be involving Carmelo Anthony and whether or not he will return to the New York Knicks.

More from NBA

According to the latest buzz, the preference for Carmelo Anthony is to return to the Knicks.

However, according to the New York Daily News, Anthony realizes that his best chance to win may come with a different franchise.

The report specifically mentions the Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat.

Miami has emerged as a late contender for Anthony in recent weeks, and the idea of teaming up with LeBron James in South Beach may be too good for Carmelo Anthony to pass up.

In Chicago, Anthony would join forces with Joakim Noah, Derrick Rose and head coach Tom Thibodeau, while the Rockets offer Dwight Howard and James Harden.

While New York has always had a special place in Anthony’s heart, it may be time to say goodbye.

All of the options listed in the report would undoubtedly give Anthony a better shot at winning than the current roster of talent in New York, so we will have to watch closely to see what Anthony’s next move will be.

For now, all eyes will be on the June 23 deadline that Carmelo Anthony has to opt out of his contract.
