The Los Angeles Kings won the 2014 Stanley Cup. As they bask in the glory of that accomplishment, they stopped by Dodgers stadium to check in with the boys in blue before their game against the Colorado Rockies.
In a development that will be a surprise to exactly zero people, outfielder Yasiel Puig took the chance to put his arm around the cup and pose for a picture.

When it comes to Puig and his day-to-day activities, he is approaching the level of cats when it comes to his ability to garner attention for anything he does on the internet. I do not type that sentence lightly. Right now the internet power rankings go something like this (roughly, ongoing, and open for discussion):
2. Game of Thrones
3. LeBron James/Johnny Manziel (tie)
4. Justin Bieber
5. Yasiel Puig
What I like the most about this picture is Puig knows what’s happening. You can see it. I envision the cup sitting there, and Puig just sitting down next to it without checking with anybody. Then he put his arms straight over his head like he was stretching, a move out of the nervous 8th grade boy playbook, and then put his arm around the Cup and looked around the room for the pictures that would follow.
The Dodgers, of course, are looking for a championship of their own. Unfortunately for them, their play hasn’t matched their payroll, at least not yet. That’s not Puig’s fault, however. So yes, people will probably react to this more strongly than his awesome play on the field, but that’s just how things go for the mercurial outfielder. I would say he’s pretty comfortable with that.
