The WWE will have a tall task ahead of them to replicate the star power of their 2014 Hall of Fame class.
The Ultimate Warrior, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Lita, Paul Bearer, Carlos Colon, Razor Ramon and Mr. T were all inducted last year.
According to numerous reports, the presumed class for 2015 will include The Rock, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Rikishi, Kevin Nash and one of either Mickie James or Victoria.
Now, per PWInsider.com, discussions are taking place within WWE of possibly having Sting be inducted next year as well.
The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony takes place the night before WrestleMania each year. In 2015, WrestleMania will be taking place in Santa Clara, CA. With Sting being billed from Venice Beach, CA, backstage officials believe it would be wise to induct the former six-time WCW World Champion in his home state.
A DVD is currently in the works, chronicling some of the best matches of Sting’s career. 2K Sports is also planning to use Sting as a pre-order bonus playable character for their WWE 2K15 video game.
The 55-year-old was expected to appear on the “Monday Night RAW” the night after WrestleMania 31, but that never panned out. There’s no word yet on if WWE will use Sting in a wrestling capacity or simply in smaller, non-televised roles.
His last match was for TNA Impact Wrestling at their “Genesis” event, losing a TNA World Heavyweight Championship bout to Magnus. That was several months ago on Jan. 16.
The mere fact that Sting is working with World Wrestling Entertainment is music to my ears. I never thought I’d see the day where both sides would have a working relationship, but I’m glad that’s the case.
